This series consists of production, marketing, and screening-related materials for the film, Through the Wire, released in 1989. Produced in association with Amnesty International, this film examines three female inmates convicted of politically-motivated crimes who were housed in an underground high-security isolation unit located in the federal prison in Lexington, Kentucky. Materials include research materials (articles and letters), audio recordings of interviews with the incarcerated women, letters from viewers, press and publicity, a scrapbook, posters, photographs (both print and digital), and film elements (such as interviews, stills, an Italian master copy for a film festival, and selects for news shows) on various media.
