The Adele Fournet Papers contain born digital materials created between 2008-2017 documenting Fournet's career and musical works. The collection includes audio and video files, an inventory spreadsheet and an archived copy of her website, adelefournet.com. The collection documents her solo work as well as her collaborations with other artists.

Adele Fournet is a musician, composer, music producer and video artist born in Fayetteville, AR and based in Brooklyn, NY. She works both as a solo artist and in collaborations with other artists.

Scope and Contents

The Adele Fournet Papers contain born-digital materials created between 2008-2017 documenting Fournet's career and musical works. The collection includes audio and video files, an inventory spreadsheet, and an archived copy of her website, adelefournet.com and other aspects of her web presence, such as her Bandcamp, SoundCloud, and the website of her band, Tipa Tipo. The collection documents her solo work as well as her collaborations with other artists in projects such as The Soon-Another and a string quartet.

Conditions Governing Access

Audio and video recordings are available for streaming with password authentication from NYU Libraries for researchers with prior approval based on the 2016 agreement with the donor. All other material in the collection is open to researchers.

Archived websites are open to researchers without restrictions.

Donated by Adele Fournet, October 2017. The accession numbers associated with this gift are 2017.118 and 2017.185.

http://www.adelefournet.com was initially added as part of the New York University Collection of Contemporary Composers' Websites Web Archive in 2017. In 2018, the crawling was discontinued and began being captured in the Avery Fisher Center: Adele Fournet Web Archive. From 2019-2022, individual videos were added to better capture the videos embedded in http://www.adelefournet.com/. The accession numbers associated with the videos are 2019.045, 2019.058, 2021.022, 2021.030, and 2022.012. In December 2019, https://soundcloud.com/adelefournet/ and https://adelefournet.bandcamp.com/ was added to the web archives. The accession number associated with these websites is 2020.005. In 2025, additional individual videos were added to better capture the videos embedded in http://www.adelefournet.com/, as well as her band's website https://www.tipatipo.com/. The accession number associated with these websites in 2025.022. The archived websites were captured through the use of Archive-It. Archive-It uses web crawling technology to capture websites at a scheduled time and displays only an archived copy, from the resulting WARC file, of the website.

Certain file types will not be captured dependent on how they are embedded in the site. Processing Information

One hard drive was forensically imaged, analyzed, and arranged in Forensic Toolkit. Adele Fournet's website was archived to the Internet Archive using the Archive-It service. In 2020, additional archived websites were added to the web archive to capture embedded video and audio on the website. In 2025, additional websites were added to the finding aid and administrative information about the collection was updated.
