K. Marie Kim is a composer and audio engineer based in Brooklyn, NY. The K. Marie Kim Papers contain born digital materials documenting Kim's career and musical works. The collection includes audio files and an archived copy of her website, kmariekim.com. The collection documents her solo work and her BLANK PAPER project as well as her collaborations with other artists. Materials in the collection were created between 2012-2017.

K. Marie Kim is a composer, musician, and audio engineer based in Brooklyn, NY. She holds a dual degree in Piano Performance and Music Production & Engineering from Berklee College of Music. She has participated in both solo work and collaborations with other artists in her musical projects. Her music combines her classical instrumental training with electronic instruments and techniques.

New York University Libraries follow professional standards and best practices when imaging, ingesting, and processing born-digital material in order to maintain the integrity and authenticity of the content. The digital audio files were obtained by the University via a network transfer from Kim.
The collection was arranged in Forensic Toolkit (FTK). The files were arranged in alphabetical order title of project or publication, or format of material and prepared for deposit in R*. K. Marie Kim's website was archived to the Internet Archive using the Archive-It service.
http://kmariekim.com/ was initially collected as part of the New York University Collection of Contemporary Composers' Websites Web Archive in 2017. http://kmariekim.com/ was also added as part of two collections assessing the capabilities of the Brozzler and Standard crawlers in 2018. In 2022, these seeds were transferred into the K. Marie Kim Web Archive.

New site crawls are accrued semiannually.
Appraisal
Robots.txt (a piece of code designed to limit crawler activity within a website) was ignored with the permission of the content owner.
Crawl was limited to domains and subdomains of http://kmariekim.com/ in order to remain within the collection scope and data constraints.
Parts of the live site involving Soundcloud, Bandcamp, and Youtube were not captured due to technological constraints.
