Abstract
Ronald Vance is an artist and writer active in the United States and Europe during the later half of the 20th century. This collection consists of correspondence, as well as published and unpublished writings by Vance from the late 1960s through the mid 1980s. Works of fiction present in the collection were published in literary journals including Sun and Moon, Not Guilty Magazine, and Interstate Magazine. The collection also includes unpublished writings, including notes and drafts related to Vance's I Went to Italy and Ate Chocolate.
Biographical / Historical
Ronald Vance is an artist and writer active during the 1960s through the 1980s. He was born in Connecticut and graduated from Yale University before lecturing on the history of art at Leicester College of Art and then moving to Italy. As of May 2016, he was living in Long Island and was retired.

Processing Information
At the time of accessioning, materials were rehoused in an acid-free box. Some folders were replaced when they were noticeably damaged, but the majority of the folders in the collection are original to the donor. The original folder order, as well as folder titles has been retained. No arrangement or other physical interventions have taken place.
