Scope and Content
Series I consists of files kept by Paul Langland on various performances, artists and subjects. It includes correspondence, artist's files, programs and promotional material, press, interviews, and production information. Additionally, it includes choreography notes both for Langland's personal performances and original choreography, as well as performances associated with his position in NYU's Experimental Theater Wing. Much of the material is related to Paul Langland's involvement in the developement, teaching and performance of the "Allan Wayne Work" and Contact Improvisation dance techniques. This largely includes class notes and information on workshops and conferences, as well as information on various fellowships and residencies held by Paul Langland.
