Historical note
The Deepdale Golf Club was established by William K. Vanderbilt II in 1924. It was constructed on the property of his summer home ("Lake Success") in Manhasset, New York, on the north shore of Long Island. It was designed by Charles Blair Macdonald, Seth Raynor, and Charles Banks. Due to the construction of the Long Island Expressway in 1954, the course was reestablished on the nearby W.R. Grace estate by Dick Wilson. The Grace Mansion served as the new clubhouse, and course was reopened in 1955.
