Scope and Contents
The Manhattan Terrace Civic Association photographs are dated 1984 and consist of 29 items. The collection documents homes on E. 17th, 18th, and 19th Streets between Avenue I, J, and K in the Midwood neighborhood of Brooklyn. Photographs show street views of detached, single-family homes in a variety of domestic architectural styles, including colonial. Each image is identified by street name and cross street. Photographs in the collection were taken by H. Scharf and were used in the Manhattan Terrace Civic Association's proposal to designate a historic district in the neighborhood.
