Series 5: Photographs, circa 1910-2016, inclusive

Series 5: Photographs, circa 1910-2016, includes studio portraits and candid photographs of the Butcher and Johnson families in Barbados, Brooklyn, and Washington, DC. The bulk of the series is made up of photographs of Ina Johnson, Booker T. Johnson, and their children. The earlier photographs depict Alexander Butcher, his siblings, and children.

Photographs of the Johnson children depict them outside at the Marcy Houses, dressed for graduation or confirmation ceremonies, and in baby or graduation portraits. Photographs of Genevieve Johnson show her with a Fresh Air Fund host family in Chappaqua, New York in the 1960s. Photographs from Barbados, circa 1980, depict Peter (Alexander Butcher's half brother) and his family. The photographs of the Johnson family reunion in Washington, DC in 2016 are printed in a book.
