Abstract

This collection contains issues of B.A.N.G. Notes, the newsletter of the Brooklyn Anti-Nuclear Group (BANG), which ran from 1981 to 1986.

Historical Note

The Brooklyn Anti-Nuclear Group (BANG) formed in 1978 as an anti-nuclear power, anti-nuclear weapons, anti-racist, anti-sexist, anti-exploitation group.

The first B.A.N.G. Notes newsletter was released in January 1981 to notify people of BANG's rate withholding campaign against Con Edison's rate increases after a leak at the Indian Point nuclear power plant, and other demonstrations and events. The newsletter was initially sent to rate withholders, left in stores around Brooklyn, and accepted donations to contribute to publication and distribution costs. The last issue was released in early 1986.
