Abstract
An artificial collection of postcards depicting Brooklyn subjects dating from approximately 1905 to 1986.
Arrangement
The postcards are arranged by subjects. Within each subject, those postcards that have been digitized and assigned object identification numbers are arranged in number order.
Scope and Contents
The postcards in this collection document major Brooklyn landmarks, such as Borough Hall, Prospect Park, the Brooklyn Botanic Garden, Coney Island and the Brooklyn Public Library, as well as more everyday subjects, such as individual houses and street scenes. Some of the postcards have messages written on the back and stamps and/or markings indicating they were sent through the mail, and some are blank. Both illustrations and photographic images, and black and white and color images, are represented in this collection. Some of the postcards have glitter affixed to the image.
