The series primarily consists of various records related to laws, acts, resolutions, and other regulations enacted or proposed by or to the Common Council of the City of Brooklyn (after 1897, the City of New York). The files span the years 1869 to 1898. Subjects include sewers, street openings, water supply, railroads, and civil service. Of particular note is one file related to improvements in Brooklyn Heights (1895).
