Abstract
Group photograph of policemen and others at the 53rd Precinct Police Station in Far Rockaway, Queens, New York. The photograph was taken by commercial photographer M. Siebel around 1925. The photograph was owned by George Roethel, who is pictured as the fourth policeman from the right in the photograph.
Historical note
The 53rd Precinct of the New York Police Department was established in Far Rockaway, Queens, New York, as the 125th Precinct. On July 18, 1924, the city's precincts were renumbered, and the 125th Precinct became the 53rd Precinct. On July 3, 1929, the city's precincts were renumbered for a final time, and the 53rd Precinct became the 101st Precinct.
