The Irwin Lutzky collection includes documents, publications, ephemera, and photographs from Lutzky's childhood and life in Brooklyn.

Biographical / Historical

Irwin Lutzky was born to Russian immigrants Abraham and Sarah Lutzky on June 5, 1922 at 787 Grand Street in Brooklyn. He attended J.H.S. 128 in Bensonhurst, graduating in January 1938. Lutzky passed away on January 5, 2000.

Scope and Contents

The Irwin Lutzky collection includes three certificates pertaining to Lutzky's childhood innoculations; miscellaneous publications, invitations, and programs belonging to Lutzky from such organizations as the Town of Flatbush Civic and Cultural Association and the Flatbush Historical Society; photographs of Coney Island in 1944; and other miscellaneous materials relating to Brooklyn in the 1970s.

Photographs which had been separated from the collection were reunited in November 2014. This collection originally included two artifacts (a button and napkin) which were separated to the museum collection and have not yet been reunited with the rest of the collection.
