This collection contains the papers of the Tilley family of Oyster Bay, Long Island and Yonkers, N.Y. Materials in the collection include property records, wills, school diplomas, certificates, military commissions, Civil War letters, and photographs, all of which document the careers and lives of Tilley family members from multiple generations. The collection spans the period 1803 to 1976.

This collection contains the papers of the Tilley family of Oyster Bay, Long Island and Yonkers, N.Y. Materials in the collection include property records, wills, school diplomas, certificates, military commissions, Civil War letters, and photographs, all of which document the careers and lives of Tilley family members from multiple generations. The collection spans the period 1803 to 1976.
The collection's photographs come in a variety of formats, including cartes-de-visite, tintypes, cabinet photographs, picture postcards, and black-and-white prints. They include a number of portraits (some of the Tilley family, others are unidentified). Other photographs of interest include two prints featuring automobiles, the family dressed as ghosts for a Halloween celebration, and a series of images of a general store with a soda counter.
