This collection contains early 20th century clippings and publications relating to various Brooklyn and Long Island historical events.

This small collection is housed in a single folder with no particular arrangement.
Scope and Contents
This collection contains clippings and publications about various Brooklyn and New York historical events. Topics include the Bushwick Riot of 1696; William Alexander, Earl of Stirling (in a booklet written by Charles Ditmas and published by the Kings County Historical Society); the Lott family; coats of arms of Colonial era American families; Henry Remsen and the Bank of the Manhattan Company; Brooklyn's first schoolteacher; the unveiling of a Battle of Brooklyn monument in Green-Wood Cemetery; and Newtown (oversize newspaper supplement in flat file). The collection also includes one Hyde's Pocket Map of Queens, dated 1908 (in flat file). Additionally, there is a set of clippings comprising a serialized version of Georgia Fraser's 1910 novel Crow-Step, which is a romance set during the Dutch colonial era in Brooklyn. A 1955 clipping from the Hanover Gazette covers an award won by Bill Cunningham, whose connection to the other contents of this collection is unclear.

This collection was rehoused and the finding aid revised by Dee Bowers in 2024. At that time, preservation photocopies were created of all clippings and the originals discarded. Also, "Long Island" was added to the collection name to better reflect its contents.
