Abstract
An 1894 letter adressed to the Honorable Levi P. Morton from Reverend Lyman Abbott urging the appointment of Benjamin Blair as Supreme Court Judge. Reverend Lyman Abbott was pastor of Plymouth Church and at the time of this letter, Morton was Governor-elect of the State of New York.

Reverend Lyman Abbott (1835-1922) was pastor of the Plymouth Church in Brooklyn from 1883 to 1899.
At the time of the letter, Levi P. Morton was Governor-elect of the State of New York.
