Abstract
The collection includes a constitution, reports, printed communications, newsletters, and programs from the Knights of Columbus of Long Island, dated 1901 to 1966. Some Brooklyn material is included.
Historical note
The Knights of Columbus are a Roman Catholic fraternal order. The first chapter in New York City was Brooklyn Council no. 60, founded in 1891. The Long Island chapter was also founded in Brooklyn, in 1897. The organization has assisted members of the armed services, organized blood donation campaigns, run sports programs for young people, promoted spiritual activities, and articulated Catholic opinion on social issues.

Some of the activities documented herein include a "Lyceum course" of public lectures and performances, Independence Day celebrations, charity balls, a hospital bed fund, and a Columbus Day dinner and reception.
