Abstract
This collection includes various records of the Alcyone Boat Club of Brooklyn, including the Club's constitution and bylaws, 1867; a log book recording miles rowed by members, 1878 to 1883; a history of the Club, circa 1875; and a membership list, 1859 to 1885. Also include is a court notice for the hearing of Otto Kornewann v. the Steamship PLANTYN, 1885.
Historical note
The Alcyone Boat Club was organized in Brooklyn 1854. Its first boathouse stood at the foot of Court Street in the neighborhood of Brooklyn Heights and was moved later to the neighborhood of Bay Ridge.
