Biographical Note
Montgomery Queen (d. 1901) was the first Superintendent of the Brooklyn City Railroad. He also operated the first established stage line along Fulton Street, and was a circus proprietor.
Scope and Contents
Scrapbook of Montgomery Queen, consisting of collected newspaper clippings and images dating from 1874 to 1897. Contains references to Queen, as well as various prominent political and social figures on the local and national levels, including Henry Ward Beecher, Edwin Booth, Ulysses S. Grant, Abraham Lincoln, James S.T. Stranahan, and Samuel J. Tilden, among others. Also includes various poems compiled by Queen.
