Historical note
The Elm Place Congregational Church was organized in 1853 and located at Elm Place near Fulton Street in Brooklyn. The church merged with the State Street Congregational Church in 1874 to form the Union Congregational Church.

The records include a photo-negative copy of an event program for the church's 1864 dedication ceremony, a program of the church's Sunday School Festival Art Gallery, dated 1868, and handwritten historical notes on the church, circa 1940. The notes include a transcription of the 1853 minutes of the church's founding meeting and election of trustees, biographical notes on some of the church's pastors, and notes on the State Street Congregational Church and Union Congregational Church.
