Abstract

The University Club of Brooklyn records consist of a small assortment of materials documenting the activities of the Club during the period 1904 to 1952.

Historical Note

The University Club of Brooklyn was incorporated in 1901 as a social club for "college-trained men of Brooklyn." It became less active after the loss of its clubhouse at Lafayette and Oxford Streets in 1931. The University Club dissolved in 1952.

Scope and Contents

The University Club of Brooklyn records consist of a small assortment of materials documenting the activities of the Club during the period 1904 to 1952. Materials chiefly consist of correspondence, though additional items include the Club's certificates of incorporation and dissolution, a membership list, minutes of annual meetings, news clippings, programs, and yearbooks.
