The collection consists of a circa 1900 handwritten journal and related photographs documenting a group trip to Plum Island off the North Fork of Long Island.

The collection consists of a handwritten journal documenting a group trip to Plum Island and related photographs, dating from circa 1900. A brief history of the island is included in the journal. Plum Island is located east of the North Fork of Long Island. Individuals represented in the photographs include the following: Howland Gardner, Charles Gardner, Steve Gardner, Will Reeves, Nathan Smith, and S. Lester Fuller. They are refered to as the Smoke Pipe Club.
