The collection contains ephemera related to Brooklyn, New York, dating from the 1920s to 1992. The collection is especially focused on civic matters of the 1970s and 1980s.
Scope and Contents
The collection contains ephemera related to Brooklyn, New York, dating from the 1920s to 1992. The collection is especially focused on civic matters of the 1970s and 1980s. The collection contains material related to the Park Slope Civic Council and the Prospect Park Advisory Committee, including meeting minutes, issues of Civic News, and copies of the Brooklyn Bird Club newsletter The Clapper Rail. Other neighborhoods of Brooklyn, such as Flatbush, are also represented. The collection contains Brooklyn business ephemera dating from the 1930s to 1988. Additionally, it includes cultural ephemera from the Brooklyn Institute of Arts and Sciences, the Brooklyn Academy of Music, the Long Island Historical Society, and various other organizations. Other topics represented in the collection include the Brooklyn Bridge, the Kings County Hospital School of Nursing, politics, the waterfront, and WWII.
