Many of the images are reproductions of etchings which themselves reproduce earlier artwork. Many of the recreated views of Brooklyn, including views of Fulton Avenue, Flatbush Avenue, Atlantic Avenue and the Old Stone House at Gowanus, depict scenes from the early to mid 19th Century. Many of the New York city scenes depicted include the New York waterways, such as "The Narrows from Staten Island", "The Ferry at Brooklyn", the view of New York from Staten Island and the view of New York from Weehawken, NJ.
