After - Completed in late 1985, the Fulton South housing development provides 65 subsidized apartment units and was made possible through federal grants and private financing. The project was one of the last to be built under the HUD Section 8 subsidy program.
Bedford Stuyvesant Restoration Corporation, now celebrating its 20th anniversary, is the first and largest community development corporation in the nation. Established in 1967 [through] the bi-partisan efforts of the late Senators Robert F. Kennedy and Jacob Javits, Restoration promotes the economic, physical, and social revitalization of the Bedford Stuyvesant community.
