Abstract
This collection consists of a bound volume containing a register of the Unity Club's members for the period 1914 to 1944. The register contains each member's name, home and business address, and occupation, as well as the names of the members who proposed and seconded his membership nomination. Also included is a program from the Unity Club's 70th anniversary dinner, and a framed painting commemorating the Club's 50th anniversary in 1946, picturing the three clubhouses occupied by the Club since its founding.
Historical Note
Founded in 1896, the Unity Club was a Brooklyn Jewish men's organization advocating social, philanthropic, and communal activities. Originally located at Franklin Avenue and Hancock Street, the Club relocated to a clubhouse at Dean Street and Bedford Avenue in 1914, and again to a clubhouse at 101 Eighth Avenue in 1944.
