Abstract
The collection contains 3 items: a Recognition of Service certificate awarded to Celestine De Martini, acknowledging his service as a civilian employee of the U.S. Navy during World War II; a photograph of Lieutenant Vance A. Tribbett, officer in charge of the Materials Inspection Department at the Brooklyn Navy Yard; and a photograph of employees of the Navy Yard Materials Inspection Department, including Angelo Iovine, Charles Rosario, and Jack Barnes. The latter photograph was taken outside the Navy Street Housing Project.
Biographical note
Celestine De Martini was a resident of Brooklyn, and worked as a civilian employee of the United States Navy at the Brooklyn Navy Yard (officially known as the New York Naval Shipyard) during the Second World War.
