About this Guide
Processing Information
Found with a typewritten page which reads "Historical Reminiscences of the Protestant Reformed Dutch Church of Kings County, from 1656 to the Death of the Rev. Martinus Schoonmaker in 1824, by Jeremiah Johnson."
The manuscript pages had been folded and bound between hard covers, but the pages had come loose from the binding and ripped along the folds. The archivist removed the binding and sleeved each manuscript page (in two pieces) in mylar. Access photocopies had previously been made and these were housed separately for researchers to use without handling the fragile originals.
