The NYU field hockey team played its first games in the 1924 season. This varsity team practiced at Central Park and Prospect Park. In 1931 the team played a game on the Ohio Field at University Heights, becoming the first female team to play on this field. Field hockey is no longer a competitive sport at NYU.
