Abstract

The New York University Archives serves as the final repository for the historical records of NYU. Its primary purpose is to document the history of the University and to provide source material for administrators, faculty, students, alumni, and other members of the University community, as well as scholars, authors, and other interested persons who seek to evaluate the impact of the University's activities on the history of American social, cultural, and intellectual development. The New York University Archives Collection of NYU Postcards consists of three undated postcards and one copper plate related to NYU's Camp Sebago. The collection also contains several postcards depicting Washington Square Park, Washington Square campus buildings, and University Heights campus buildings.

The provenance of these materials is unknown. Items were received in the mail with no letter or return address in January 2021. The accession number associated with this gift is 2022.023.

In May 2024, the folder entitled "Washington Square Park, Washington Square Campus, and University Heights Campus" was transferred from the New York University Archives Photograph Collection (PHOTO 00001). The accession number associated with this accretion is 2024.033.
