Abstract
Nina Bauman is a high school teacher in New York City. She attended New York University's University Heights campus as an undergraduate from 1968-1970. The Nina Bauman Papers (dated 1967-1972) consists of materials created and collected by Bauman documenting her experiences as an undergraduate student at NYU's University Heights campus in the Bronx. The collection includes personal documents, including Bauman's transcript, acceptance letter, transcribed song lyrics, class notes, annotated paperback books, academic papers, curricula, and university ephemera, as well as materials documenting political activity on campus during the time period. Political materials include newspaper clippings, flyers, pins, and ephemera documenting on-campus issues such as the firing of John Hatchett, director of the Afro-American Student Center, as well as national and international issues, such as the Black Power movement and opposition to American involvement in the Vietnam War.

Processing Information
At the time of accessioning in 2020, materials were rehoused in an archival box and folders, maintaining the original topical groupings created by Nina Bauman. Materials were described on the collection-level with a folder inventory.
In Fall 2023, an accretion was rehoused in archival boxes and folders, and inventoried on the folder-level. Some class notes were removed from their original binders and rehoused into archival folders. All metadata was recoreded before the binders were discarded. The accession number associated with this accretion is 2023-047. At this time, per the donor's request, the collection name was changed from the Nina B. de Fels Collection to the Nina Bauman Papers.
