Abstract

Mary Moline is the author of many books, including America's Vindicated Statesman: Albert Gallatin. This collection is her research on Albert Gallatin in the form of books, secondary material printouts, and copies of Gallatin's letters.

Biographical Note

Mary Moline has written books on many topics, including an anthology on Henry Ford (Best of Ford: A Collection of Short Stories and Essays); works on Norman Rockwell (The Norman Rockwell Collectibles Value Guide: The Little Rockwell Book); and a Christmas story entitled "Mimi." She is also a motivational speaker and the founder of the International White Cross, an organization of disaster victims helping other disaster victims.

Albert Gallatin was born in Geneva, Switzerland in 1761. As a youth, he immigrated to the United States, where he quickly became involved in American politics. As a House of Representatives member he was the leader of the Democratic-Republican Party and served as Secretary of the Treasury from 1801 to 1813. Following his career as a politician and diplomat, Gallatin helped found New York University in 1831. The Gallatin School of Individualized Study is named in honor of his contributions to the University.

Scope and Contents

This collection consists of files relating to Mary Moline's research on Albert Gallatin for her book America's Vindicated Statesman: Albert Gallatin. Secondary material about Gallatin's life and work may be found in this collection, as well as photocopies of his writings and correspondence. Photocopies of were created in 2004. The collection also contains books written about Gallatin and a Christmas ornament depicting United States Coast Guard vessel, the USCG Gallatin. Handouts and pamphlets from different places, such as Gallatin's home at Friendship Hill, are also among the research materials.
