Throughout his career, Brademas was filmed and taped numerous times during press conferences, radio broadcasts, on TV programs, and at special functions. Topics include campaign films from 1968 to 1976, special reports from Brademas to his district, and recordings of conferences and discussions about policy relating to older Americans, childcare, juvenile delinquency, aid to education, vocational education, handicapped children, and school desegregation.
Audio tapes document Washington Insight, a half-hour television show hosted by Brademas. In the course of a typical show, Brademas moderates interviews with leading figures in Washington who speak about timely issues. The inaugural show featured Speaker Carl Albert and then Minority Leader Gerald R. Ford. Later guests include Edward Kennedy, Henry Jackson, Charlton Heston, Morris Udall, Charles Percy, and the Rev. Theodore Hesburgh. Topics discussed include "The Future of Film," "Religion in the Modern Society," Federal Election Campaign Reform, the President, Congress and the Constitution, and other major issues facing the nation.
