Abstract

Terrorists attacked the World Trade Center Twin Towers in New York on September 11, 2001. This collection consists of materials from an exhibit at New York University commemorating that event.

Historical Note

Terrorists attacked the World Trade Center Twin Towers in New York on September 11, 2001. Almost 3,000 people died as a result, including many New York University alumni. NYU's Office of University Relations hosted several events to commemorate the tragedy, honor individuals and organizations who volunteered in the relief efforts, and remember those who died.

Scope and Contents

This collection consists of photographs, drymounted reprints and captions, correspondence, publicity materials, and publications related to an exhibit at New York University commemorating the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks in lower Manhattan.

Conditions Governing Access

Administrative records and unpublished reports of New York University are closed for a period of 20 years from the date of their creation. Access to files spanning multiple years will be opened to researchers based on the date of the most recent materials. Board of Trustees records are closed for 35 years from the date of creation. Materials related to personnel, grievances, job and fellowship searches and applications, and all files that fall under the federal Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) are permanently restricted. Additional restrictions may apply to other materials in this collection. For questions regarding specific restrictions, please contact the University Archives.
