Biographical Note
Howard Goodsell Cann was a college basketball and football player, and an Olympic shot putter. He coached basketball for thirty-five years at New York University, from 1923-1958. Materials in this collection include certificates, awards, and diplomas from various athletic associations honoring Cann's career as an athlete and coach. There are also certificates of honor from Cann's naval service and an American flag.
