Biographical Note

Milton Michael Waller was born in New York in 1909 and graduated from NYU's University College of Arts and Pure Science in 1928 with a degree in industrial engineering. He also worked for Engelhard Industries for 17 years as a leading designer, developer, and producer of devices employing rare and exotic metals. While at Engelhard Waller also headed their military service division.

Waller went on to establish Vare Industries, Inc., a company that designed underwater vehicles. The technology he developed was responsible for retrieving a hydrogen bomb off the coast of Spain in 1966. Processing Information

Due to the poor and acidic nature of the scrapbook, each page was photocopied and, where possible, items removed from these pages. A large number of items were not originally attached. All items were subsequently grouped together in folders according to subject. In 2018, materials were rehoused in 12" x 16" inch folders and a 12" x 16" flat box. Original order and folder titles were maintained.
