Abstract
Egyptian cigarette card album composed of portraits of Egyptian royalty, ethnographic portraits and archaeological sites, reproduced as small-format photographs. EDOUARD LAURENS established his cigarette brand in 1885 in Brussels, Belgium, in 1887 he established a factory in Alexandria, Egypt. In 1888 Mohamed Tewfik Pasha (Khedive of Egypt and the Sudan between 1879 and 1892 and the sixth ruler from the Muhammad Ali Dynasty) gave Laurens the right to use the brand name "Khedive" and his portrait. In the 1890's Laurens opened a branch in Munich, in 1908 in London), in 1913 at Geneva, c. 1920 in Wiesbaden (Germany), and in 1921 at The Hague.
